Currently, the corporation has two upcoming events within the next twelve months:

Regional Anthropomorphic Writers Retreat

Where: Dallas, TX

When: June 5 - June 11, 2020

Type: Juried event - application required

Restrictions: 18+, first-time attendees only

Costs: Registration ($135), Housing ($415), Meals, Incidentals, Travel

Financial Assistance: In Development

Summary:

The Regional Anthropomorphic Writers Retreat (RAWR) is the only residential short-story writing workshop started to help furry writers specifically build confidence, acquire and hone existing skills, build a social network, interact with long-time writers, and do so in a focused, intensive experience. The event requires prospective attendees to submit applications and writing samples, which are evaluated. Candidates then proceed to the five-day retreat where they evaluate a pre-written submission and compose a submission on site. The event features morning lecture and critique sessions, the opportunity for one-on-one coaching, and additional facility of the University of Texas at Dallas.

Repeat Regional Anthropomorphic Writers Retreat

Where: Minneapolis, MN (tentative)

When: June 14 - June 20, 2020

Type: Project proposal required

Restrictions: 18+, RAWR alumni only

Costs: Housing (TBD), Registration (TBD), Meals, Incidentals, Travel

Financial Assistance: In Development

Summary:

The Repeat Regional Anthropomorphic Writers Retreat (Re-RAWR) serves the same function as the Regional Anthropomorphic Writers Retreat. The key exception is that the re-retreat is built around what the individual attendees would like to do. Unstructured and totally open to each individual's needs for a week, the retreat attendee need only propose a project plan, complete with goals. Attendees may self-organize events, like morning coffee meets, critique sessions, specialist sessions, or other social networking events. Special guests may be invited by attendee consensus. The re-retreat is seven days, starting with arrivals on Sunday and ending with departures on the following Saturday.
